Cyprus is famous for its beautiful beaches, and with so many to choose from, how do you pick which you’ll visit on your next holiday? To help you select the perfect beaches to enjoy the beaming Cyprus sunshine and all that this magical island has to offer, we’ve picked out some of our favourites. Konnos Bay

Smaller and less crowded than some of the other beaches in the area, Konnos Bay has such calm water, it’s popular with families as it’s safe for the youngsters, and it’s also great for snorkelling. The 200-metre beach offers a wide range of water sports,  you’ll find all the facilities you need such as sunbeds and umbrellas, and there’s a kiosk serving refreshments too.

 

Vyzakia

Beautiful and secluded, you’ll find Vyzakia beach hidden away; as the trees part, the beach is revealed to you. This beach is usually very quiet and so it’s a lovely romantic and peaceful spot. The water is very clear and there are some fascinating underwater rock formations so it’s a great place for snorkelling or diving.

 

Nissi Beach

If you’re looking for a lively beach, then Nissi beach is the place to be, there’s always something fun going on! Popular with young people, and the young-at-heart, Nissi beach is lively every night right into the early hours. Here you’ll find music playing all day, you may even be lucky enough to catch a world-famous DJ playing a set. Get involved in beach games, dance the night away at a foam party, and have some delicious cocktails. You’ll find it all, and more, at Nissi beach.

 

Makronissos

If you like to have everything on hand for you and your family, then Makronissos beach is ideal. It’s an easy beach to get to, there’s a car park close by and there are lifeguards in all the beaches in the area. The facilities here are very good, with everything from toilets and changing rooms to water sports activities. Close by you’ll find a convenience store, and there are plenty of restaurants and kiosks in the vicinity by too.

 

Glyki Nero

Glyki Nero is a beautiful sweeping beach, it’s so picturesque. Its name means ‘sweet water’ and it’s certainly a sweet place to be, with crystal clear water, and fine white sand as far as the eye can see. Glyki Nero is a lovely, safe beach, perfect for families with plenty of facilities on hand. You can relax on a sunbed, or try something more energetic such as parasailing or a trip out on a jet ski.

 

Sirena Bay

Sirena Bay is a real hidden gem. It’s more popular with locals than overseas tourists so when you visit Sirena Bay you feel as if you’ve discovered a secret oasis. It’s just 50 meters wide, but you’ll find it calm and tranquil, it’s also very green and lush giving it a true tropical island feel.
